Looking to upgrade your home and make it the best it can be? The following five projects are well worth taking on if you have the budget and time to do so.
A modern kitchen
The kitchen is the heart of the home, and such an important and well used room should be both functional and beautiful. If you have the budget to rip everything out and start again you can be sure that you’re maximizing every available bit of space, speak to a kitchen planner to bring your vision into reality. They can talk things through with you, and work out how you use the room most to recommend a layout that will work for you. Maybe you love to bake and need extra storage for your baking equipment, or perhaps you’re a keen hostess so adding a wine rack or additional wine fridge to the layout would work for you. Either way, spending money on the kitchen is a good use of your money at home.
Luxury flooring
Invest in the right kind of flooring and you’ll pretty much never need to replace it again. Solid wood or stone such as marble or granite can last a lifetime or more if they’re properly looked after. They’re easy to clean, look great with any kind of decor and are known for standing the test of time. A good idea would be to have hard floors fitted downstairs, and then carpet upstairs. That way it’s soft and cozy upstairs, but downstairs you have a practical surface that can easily be cleaned of muddy shoes, food spills, pet accidents and more.
New windows
Are your windows a little worse for wear? There are some great reasons to have them replaced. First things first, newer models are more sturdy and offer better protection from burglars. They’re also more energy efficient, which is good news for your bills as well as the environment. Windows can also transform the look of a home, perhaps some new rendering or paint in a different color and you can massively boost your property’s curb appeal.
Solar panels
Another way to slash your bills while helping the planet is to have solar panels fitted. There are lots of solar companies out there these days and sometimes you can even get funding from the government which keep costs down for you. Even if you pay full price, since they save you money they essentially ‘pay for themselves’ after a few years.
Garden landscaping
Finally, if you want your home to look as beautiful on the outside as it does on the inside then why not invest in some garden landscaping? Some nice decking, a neatly leveled and properly edged lawn and features like a pond will all look fantastic when done by the professionals. You’ll have a place to sit and relax when the weather is nice, as well as invite friends and family over.
